It is with pleasure that I bring you a selection of news items from Canadian alumni and the University of Cape Town.
Of special note is our congratulations Michael Hayden on his receiving the Order of Canada, and the prestigious Gairdner Wightman Award for global leadership for his research into Huntington’s disease.
A further note of congratulations to Henry and Marcia Blumberg who were awarded the Vice-Chancellor’s Medal from VC Max Price recently, for their unstinting support of UCT in many ways over the past thirty years.
I hope you will find the articles in this Spring newsletter interesting and that they instill a touch of nostalgia for those ‘carefree’ campus days.
NB: Please take note of the Alumni event planned for Vancouver on 19th May - RSVP as soon as possible.
Regards to all,

On the streets this form of rapping is called cyphering … defined as a rap or flow but not in a battle.”
