Lively discussions at cell death conference in Cape Town

The fledgling South African Cell Death Society hosted its coming-out event this week, the 1st Cell Death Symposium, a meeting that the group hopes will become an annual feature. Between 30 and 40 delegates, comprised of local and international researchers and graduate students from around South Africa, met at the Two Oceans Aquarium on the V&A Waterfront.

The 2011 New Year sees the University of Cape Town operating within Canada under a new status, as a “prescribed university outside Canada” as listed under Section VIII of the Canadian Income Tax Act.
UCT remains a qualified donee under this status, and donations to the University of Cape Town, through the office in Toronto, will still qualify for a tax rebate.
