UCT’s GSB to represent Africa in UNDP partnership on impact investing

UCT is one of nine universities partnering in a UNDP program to develop a research agenda to better leverage private investment in financing its Sustainable Development Goals. The Bertha Centre for Social Innovation & Entrepreneurship will lead the UCT initiative, representing Africa.

The Bertha Centre for Social Innovation & Entrepreneurship is part of the Graduate School of Business.


Other partners will be:

• Carleton University, Canada
• China Europe International Business School, China
• Maastricht University, Netherlands
• National University of Singapore Business School, Singapore
• Oxford University Saïd Business School, UK
• University of Pennsylvania, The Wharton School, US
• Tsinghua University, China
• University of Zurich, Center for Sustainable Finance and Private Wealth, Switzerland.

A combined research effort is seen as essential to tackle the challenges facing impact investing - particularly in how to measure impact.
