The Toronto South African Film takes place from 17-19 November 2016.

The North American premier of an edgy new documentary called Doc-U-Mentally forms part of the exciting line-up of this year’s TSAFF.

“The film follows five doctors from different cultural backgrounds on-call for a 30-hour shift in rural KwaZulu, Natal. As the clock ticks, gain insight into the emotional strength required to endure the intensity of an “average” night on the job.” (Winner of the Best SA Documentary at the Jozi Film Festival).

A post-screening panel discussion will see Drs. Jeremy Friedman, Shaheer Aboobaker and George Azzie share their insights on the film and their challenging yet rewarding experiences working in South African hospitals. Drs. Jeremy Friedman and Shaheer Aboobaker are both UCT Health Sciences alumni.
